Saluda Elementary School’s fifth-grade students recently stepped into leadership roles, guiding families through interactive science stations during the school’s Science Night.
Students led science stations and presented science fair projects on display boards, demonstrating scientific concepts and their research to families who attended the evening event. The hands-on format allowed families to explore science together while fifth-graders practiced science communication and leadership skills.
The science stations were supported by a grant from Duke Energy, which provided resources for interactive demonstrations and activities. The Tryon Fine Arts Center provided display boards for fifth-grade science fair projects through the Be Inspired Grant (BIG).
Science Night offered families opportunities to engage with science learning in an informal, interactive setting while celebrating student achievement and scientific inquiry. The event showcased student learning while building family engagement around STEM education.
