The NBA has announced that Fox is up for the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award, while Barnes is a finalist for the Sportsmanship Award.
SAN ANTONIO — De’Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes are representing the Silver & Black as finalists for two of the NBA’s yearly awards!
On Tuesday, the association started rolling out the list of nominees for their 2025-2026 awards and two Spurs were named as finalist for their play on and of the courts.
Fox was named a finalist for the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award, which recognizes a player deemed the best teammate based on selfless play, on- and off-court leadership as a mentor and role model to other NBA players and commitment and dedication to his team, according to the league.
There are a total of 12 finalist for the award and current NBA players will be responsible for selecting the winner.
Barnes was announced as a finalist for the 2025-26 NBA Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes the player who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court.
Six players, one from each division, were selected as finalist for the Sportsmanship award and they are listed below:
- Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat (Southeast Division)
- Harrison Barnes, San Antonio Spurs (Southwest Division)
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder (Northwest Division)
- Al Horford, Golden State Warriors (Pacific Division)
- T.J. McConnell, Indiana Pacers (Central Division)
- Derrick White, Boston Celtics (Atlantic Division)
Fox and Barnes just so happened to be teammates for about 5 1/12 season with the Sacramento Kings before both being traded to San Antonio in 2024 and then 2025.
San Antonio has brought home quite a bit of yearly awards the past couple of seasons, including a few Rookie of the Years, and don’t plan at stopping with Fox and Barnes as finalist for the rest of the 2025-26 awards have yet to be released.
