Bryan Armetta shares his two favorite player props on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s San Antonio Spurs vs. Toronto Raptors matchup.
West meets East in a clash between playoff contenders on Wednesday. The Spurs (41-16, 2nd in West) have been a juggernaut, reeling off nine straight wins. Tonight, San Antonio will hope to continue its winning ways north of the border. As for the Raptors (34-24, 5th in East), this evening presents an opportunity to prove they can hang with the NBA’s best. To do so, Toronto’s stars will need to be at their best.
Which players are poised for a standout performance in this marquee matchup? The Spurs are favored by 7.5 points (-112) over the Raptors, with the over/under set at 229.5 points. Here are the two top prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s San Antonio vs. Toronto matchup.
Spurs vs. Raptors prop bet picks
Victor Wembanyama 39+ points + rebounds + assists (-116)
Even by his own standards, Victor Wembanyama has been on fire recently. Over his last five games, the center is averaging 26.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 51% from the field (35% 3PT). Combined with his usual shot-blocking excellence, and you have arguably the NBA’s premier two-way threat. Right now, there are few players on Earth I’d rather back than Wemby.
That’s especially true when considering the advantageous matchup at hand for San Antonio. Toronto’s defense, while solid, is likely to be shorthanded. Jakob Poeltl (back) is listed as questionable. Assuming the center can’t suit up, Collin Murray-Boyles will likely fill in down low. The rookie is a stellar defender, but he’s only 6’7″. That’s not ideal when going up against 7’4″ Wembanyama. The Frenchman has tallied at least 39 points + rebounds + assists in five of his last seven appearances. There’s no reason to think he can’t reach that mark once again on Wednesday.
RJ Barrett 18+ points (-120)
Scottie Barnes (quad) is currently listed as questionable on Toronto’s injury report. Even if the forward does suit up, he’s unlikely to operate at 100%. Fortunately for the Raptors, this roster has several other names capable of carrying the offense. That includes RJ Barrett, an often slept-on member of this starting five. The shooting guard has rounded into a quality option out of the backcourt. Through 34 games this season, he’s accounted for 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists to go with 47/35/71 shooting splits.
Barrett’s production can vacillate, partially a consequence of playing on this deep Raptors squad. Over his last six games, the 25-year-old is averaging 15.0 points per game on 41% shooting. With that being said, he’s found success in Wednesday’s matchup before. RJ has tallied at least 18 points in six of his previous seven meetings with San Antonio. Given the potential absence of Barnes, Barrett should have every opportunity to reach that total once more on Wednesday.
