A new interesting update about Paramount Pictures and Miramax’s upcoming Scary Movie 6 has been revealed, teasing some of the movies that the new installment will be parodying. The latest sequel to the iconic horror comedy franchise is slated to arrive in theaters on June 12, 2026.
Which horror movies will Scary Movie 6 parody?
According to Dread Central, Scary Movie 6 will reportedly feature parodies of Ryan Coogler’s acclaimed vampire movie Sinners and Zach Cregger’s mystery horror movie Weapons, which were released last year. Both movies are currently nominated at the upcoming 2026 Academy Awards, with the Michael B. Jordan-led movie competing for 16 awards, while Weapons star Amy Madigan is nominated for Best Supporting Actress. In addition, the new Scary Movie sequel is also expected to spoof John Krasinski’s 2018 post-apocalyptic horror movie A Quiet Place.
Michael Tiddes is directing Scary Movie 6 from a screenplay written by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Rick Alvarez. The ensemble cast includes returning cast members Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell, Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks, Marlon Wayans as Shorty Meeks, Shawn Wayans as Ray Wilkins, Jon Abrahams as Bobby Prinze, Lochlyn Munro as Greg Phillippe, and Dave Sheridan as Doofy Gilmore, with Chris Elliott. They will be joined by Damon Wayans Jr., Chris Elliott, Cheri Oteri, Kim Wayans, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, and Sydney Park.
Further details about its plot are still under wraps. Marlon Wayans previously collaborated with Tiddes in several movies, including A Haunted House, Fifty Shades of Black, Naked, and Sextuplets. The Wayans brothers are also producing alongside Alvarez. The project is executive-produced by Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Lowey, and Thomas Zadra.
