For the British royal family, it is business as normal as they continue to carry out engagements in the wake of the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) this morning.

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” King Charles said in a statement. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation.” The King continued, “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.” (Andrew has denied any wrongdoing.)

That “duty and service” was clear as the royals kept to their planned schedules. Queen Camilla was the first royal to be pictured in public, and now, King Charles is attending the opening of London Fashion Week. The King sat in the front row for the opening show of LFW from British-Nigerian designer, Tolu Coker. Other front-row attendees included Alexander McQueen creative director Seán McGirr, Little Simz (a.k.a. Simbi Ajikawo), Gaetan Judd, Skepta and Olapeju Coker.

Before the fashion show at 180 Strand, the home of London Fashion Week, the King toured an exhibition “curated to highlight craftmanship, innovation and sustainability within British fashion,” according to Buckingham Palace. Charles also met with “British makers and apprentices supporting heritage skills and sustainability. This also includes students currently studying on King’s Foundation programmes, who will be doing demonstrations of draping and embroidery.”
