Senior potluck to feature police talk on scams, music and food

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The next South Lake Tahoe Seniors potluck will be held on Thursday, April 16, at 5 p.m. at the Senior Center. Not only will there be a yummy ham, but music will be provided by Pizza Tapes Jame. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) will also be on hand to discuss Elder Fraud Awareness.

The potluck is open to all people 50 and over. It is free for members of the South Lake Tahoe Seniors, Inc., and $5 for others. New members are welcome. Also welcome are side dishes and desserts to share.

Pizza Tapes Jam is Mel Smothers and Friends playing songs ranging from bluegrass to folk to acoustic renditions of classic rock favorites—in the spirit of Jerry & Dave’s sessions.

SLTPD’s presentation will include practical information on recognizing, avoiding, and reporting common scams via phone calls, emails, and online messaging. Many of these scams target senior citizens.

The Senior Center is located at 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
