We’re not here to debate the merits and drawbacks of fast fashion.
We’re just here to tell you that if you’re so inclined, you can visit the SHEIN pop-up store that’s taking up residence at Tempe Marketplace now through Sunday. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 12, through Saturday, March 14, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 15.
The massive online brand is set up in the former Rolling Rack space directly across from Nike at the East Valley shopping complex. There, customers can browse women’s and men’s fashion, everyday basics, beauty, footwear, handbags, accessories and more.
It’s SHEIN’s fourth pop-up in Arizona and third at Tempe Marketplace; the last event was held in May 2025. Tempe Marketplace is located at 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe.
Last year, SHEIN spokesperson Angela Tucciarone told Phoenix New Times, “We selected the Valley as a pop-up location thanks to our strong customer base in Arizona, which ranks among SHEIN’s top 20 markets nationwide. The pop-up is a way to show appreciation for the loyal Arizona community and connect directly with customers.”
SHEIN’s website packed full of low-cost items is quite different from the pop-up shop, which is downright minimalist by comparison. A tightly curated selection of seasonal trends are arranged artfully around the space. In past years, attendees have lined up outside in a special waiting area to be let in to shop.
What is SHEIN?
SHEIN, founded in 2008 by Chinese entrepreneur Chris Xu, is now one of the largest fashion retailers in the world, selling small-batch, on-demand goods to customers in more than 160 countries.
In 2024, the BBC estimated that SHEIN has up to 600,000 items for sale at any given time.
