Take a peek in Closet 31, to find fabulous high-end consignment fashion for a bargain and put some sparkle in your step this holiday season.

This stylish boutique caters to women of all ages, from tweens to seniors, with a rotating inventory from nearly 900 consigners.

“We keep things really fresh, so every 90 days we restock and bring in new consigned stuff,” said owner Andrea Davis-Gramm.

Andrea bought and rebranded the business (formerly Pippins) in 2023 from Dolly Pinchak. She currently runs the boutique with help from her daughter Lauren.

The mother-daughter duo are all about helping women find one-of-a-kind pieces that make them look and feel fabulous.

“We are offering a unique customer shopping experience to find a unique piece. When you go to your staff party or when you go to an event at the Key City Theatre, you’re not going to be wearing the same brand of dress that someone else picked up,” said Andrea.

In addition to clothing staples like sweaters, jeans, dress pants and accessories, Closet 31 also carries special items that you won’t find anywhere else in Cranbrook. The store steers away from fast fashion, focusing instead on quality brands.

The boutique’s winter coats and jackets are particularly popular around this time of year. A shopper recently found a luxury Mackage coat for a steal.

“The consigner paid over $1,000 for it and it was in excellent shape. Lauren sold it for $468,” said Andrea.

The boutique is known for its collection of shoes. It regularly gets consignment from brands like Remonte, Keen, Bueno and Art. It often carries shoes from Canadian designer John Fluevog, who never designs the same shoe twice, ranging in price from $180 to $300.

It stocks Unbelts for both men and women, made out of stretchy and comfortable recycled material, in a variety of neutral colours that look good around the waist of any pair of pants. Unbelts is a woman-owned company based out of Edmonton.

Being a consignment store, all of Closet 31’s pieces are final sale with purchase and cannot be returned. This makes gift cards or a family shopping experience ideal options for Christmas gifts.

The store will be open up until the week of Christmas, and then staff will break for the holidays from Dec. 21 to Jan. 6.

Closet 31 is generous in its contributions to the community, and all unsold items are donated to the Hospital Auxiliary, Women’s Resource Centre and Street Angels. The business also contributes financially to Angel Flight, an organization that transports people from Cranbrook area to Kelowna for medical appointments.

“It’s okay to dress nice. You feel better. Even if you’re just running out to Superstore to grab some groceries,” said Andrea.
