2 min readIf you’re in search of reliable wardrobe staples, Cos is a no-brainer. But their spring/summer 2026 runway show, unveiled earlier today in Seoul, proves there’s far more than just minimalist basics to look forward to this season—in fact, it’s a rich textural journey.
“The show marks Cos’s first in Korea—an exciting milestone set against one of the world’s most dynamic centers of fashion, art, and contemporary culture,” says Karin Gustafsson, design director at the brand. “As a global creative hub, Seoul provides a fitting backdrop for our spring/summer 2026 collection.”
Exploring themes of cinematic beauty and inspired by ‘80s and ‘90s nostalgia, the brand “focused on silhouettes shaped by craftsmanship and materiality, while reinterpreting classic designs through strong shoulders, fluid tailoring, and pieces that balance structure with softness,” says Gustafsson.
As always, this meant a major emphasis on fabrications. Fundamental textiles took the form of lightweight windbreakers, wool-linen trench coats, and structured leather tops and skirts. “Material exploration is key—leather and technical fabrics offer a soft sheen and sculptural form; paper-like textures create crinkled tactility; linen mélanges introduce dimensionality, and sheer, ethereal surfaces bring an element of transparency,” she explains.
Signature tailoring and set dressing also took a softer approach this season. “An oxblood set nods to ‘80’s power dressing, with strong shoulders that cascade into effortless cape sleeves. A silk tailored top introduces subtly exaggerated proportions, paired with Bermuda shorts to bring a sense of precision to modern suiting, while a meticulously crafted suit reexamines the restraint of ‘90’s tailoring—impeccably cut, elongated shawl lapels and carefully placed darts sharpen the silhouette,” Gustafsson says.
The color palette, anchored in earthy tones (slate gray, warm brown, creams, and whites) and punctuated by accents of deep oxblood red and cobalt blue, will lend even more richness and elegance to a spring capsule wardrobe.
“For me, foundational wardrobe pieces are about striking a balance between quiet sophistication and functionality—pieces that can be effortlessly mixed and matched, embodying versatility, while offering a considered yet adaptable way of dressing that moves seamlessly across occasions,” Gustafsson says.
