There are some weeks where BM tries to get on the “latest thing”, usually with no success, so this week it looks as if Luton duo The Itch may be it.
This latest track starts with some dialogue (from a US film maybe, about two guys boasting about getting decks and becoming DJs), then bursts into the kind of electro-stomp beloved of LCD Soundsystem at their earliest and brashest. Things level out after some scenester-type trash talk (this has to be ironic) and yes it is the kind of track the kids might dance to.
Has it been jumped upon by the hipster algorithm because it references Resident Advisor and stuff like that, who knows? They are playing Glasgow in the next few months, could be interesting…
