Just 9 minutes ago, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Ioannina, Epirus, Greece. The tremor was recorded after midnight on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at 12:30 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 5. km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Seismological Survey of Serbia (SSS) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.7. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 3.9, the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) at magnitude 3.5, The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Geophysical Lab. (AUTH) at magnitude 3.3, The Seismological Laboratory of the University of Athens (UOA) at magnitude 3.5, and the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 3.5.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Ieromnimi (pop. 170) located 1 km from the epicenter, and Rodotopi (pop. 1,100) 14 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Eleousa (pop. 3,500) located 19 km from the epicenter, Eksochi (pop. 3,000) 22 km away, Kardamitsia (pop. 3,200) 22 km away, Ioannina (pop. 65,600) 26 km away, Anatoli (pop. 9,800) 28 km away, Katsikas (pop. 3,900) 31 km away, and Igoumenitsa (pop. 9,500) 41 km away.
