After being announced a few months ago, Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon X2 Elite chips for Windows are set to launch in new Windows laptops launching at CES 2026 next week.
Snapdragon X Elite delivered a huge upgrade to the Windows world, bringing drastic battery life improvements without killing performance. But the second generation makes even bigger promises. Qualcomm said earlier this year that CPU performance would be around 75% faster, while GPU performance is more than double the performance per watt, meaning better gaming at less of a battery expense.
And it seems CES 2026 is where we’ll be seeing Snapdragon X2 Elite’s proper debut.
Windows Latest reports that Lenovo will launch new Windows laptops with Snapdragon X2 chips during CES – which starts next week – including the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x, IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1, IdeaPad Slim 5x 13”, and 15”. Not all of these will get the “Elite” chip, though, with the IdeaPads presumably using X2 Plus chipsets.
The Yoga Slim 7x certainly sounds like Lenovo’s flagship Snapdragon laptop for 2026, with an 18-core X2E88100 variant of Snapdragon X2 Elite found in the laptop alongside a 2.8K OLED display and 29 hours of battery life. The laptop is said to cost around $950 with a launch date in Q2 2026.
It’s very likely that this won’t be the only Windows laptop with Snapdragon X2 Elite coming at CES 2026, with many other brands attending the show with plenty of new hardware to show off. Stay tuned for our full coverage.
