As the state gaming control board announced another revenue increase in January, the two Northeast Pennsylvania casinos reported a decline.
The board regulates slot machines and table games in casinos, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported combined revenue of $590,644,755 for January — an 11.6% increase over revenue reported in January 2025, board officials said. The increase was driven by a 22.8% rise in iGaming slots revenue and a 38.6% spike in sports wagering revenue, officials added.
Locally, Mohegan Pennsylvania in Plains Twp. reported $17,521,514 in revenue during January — a 3.1% decrease from $18,080,414 in January 2025, board officials said.
Specifically, Mohegan experienced a 40.4% increase in iGaming revenue but saw a 36.5% decrease in retail table games revenue, a 3.8% decrease in sports betting revenue and a 1.5% decrease in retail slot machine revenue, officials added.
Mount Airy Casino Resort in Paradise Twp., Monroe County, announced $15,930,678 in revenue for January — a 13.7% decline from the $18,459,276 reported in January 2025, board officials said.
The casino — paced by a 376.5% increase in sports betting revenue — also saw a modest 0.23% increase in slot machine revenue. Mount Airy also experienced a 40.6% decrease in iGaming revenue and a 31.2% decrease in retail table games revenue, officials added.
