It’s an open secret at this point that Steam is an excellent source when it comes to scoring fantastic free games, but what’s even more special are the rare times you can claim and keep a paid game entirely for free. While the limited-time opportunities are few and far between, you still have 24 hours left to grab a classic adventure game on Steam without paying a dime.
Released all the way back in 2012, the first entry of Daedalic Entertainment’s Deponia is getting the 100% off treatment from its normal $10 price tag, and while it’s not the biggest jump, this underrated point-and-click adventure game is more than worth your time.
There’s Only 24 Hours Left For This Free Game
Being one of the more memorable point-and-click-adventure games out there, the Deponia series is a creative puzzle franchise with an incredibly charming arty style. With a high production quality from start to finish, there are plenty of humorous moments and charming characters to love waiting to be found across its plethora of detailed background environments.
Combined with the fact that each entry in the series has an excellent review score on Steam, this underrated gem has already been vetted by thousands of players, with plenty of guides for its more challenging puzzles.
If you do end up loving the unique art style and setting that Deponia has to offer, the entire series is also on sale until March 29, with the three remaining games combined only costing $6 USD. Thankfully, if you don’t want to rush and want to tackle Deponia on your own time, the series does tend to go on sale fairly frequently, but you’d be hard-pressed to find it offered for 100% off again.
Combined with the fact that each entry in the series has an excellent review score on Steam, this underrated gem has already been vetted by thousands of players, with plenty of guides for its more challenging puzzles as you navigate Rufus and his companion into a better life outside of their junkyard planet of a home.
Steam Has Tons Of Free Games
Even if story-based point-and-click-adventure games aren’t your style, or you’re looking for something with a little more action, Steam regularly gets dozens of free games from just about every genre you can imagine, making the hardest part actually narrowing down which ones to choose from.
Despite the point-and-click-adventure genre being somewhat left behind by the modern gaming world, Steam still has plenty of excellent puzzle games like Cube Escape: Paradox and adventurous experiences like Sky: Children of the Light that are entirely free to download and have plenty to offer as well.
While it might not be the best narrative-driven adventure game out there, Deponia is still more than worth giving a try a Steam while you can to see if it can scratch an adventure game itch you never knew you had.
