Theatergoers looking to catch one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals at a discount will have multiple opportunities when The Sound of Music arrives at the Fox Theatre for a limited engagement April 7–12.
Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta will offer digital lottery tickets and in-person student rush tickets for the production, giving audiences a chance to experience the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein show at reduced prices.
The digital lottery will be hosted through Lucky Seat, offering a limited number of $44 tickets. Entries opened March 27 and will remain available through April 3 at 9:30 a.m., with winners notified via email beginning at 10 a.m. that same day. Selected participants will have a short window to claim and purchase their tickets, with a limit of two per person. Tickets must be picked up at the Fox Theatre box office with a valid photo ID starting two hours before showtime.
In addition, college students can take advantage of $36 Student Rush tickets, available at the Fox Theatre box office beginning two hours before each performance. Students must present a valid college ID, and purchases are limited to two tickets per ID.
Both lottery and rush tickets are subject to availability and may include partial-view seating.
Celebrating more than 65 years as a cultural touchstone, The Sound of Music continues to captivate audiences with its timeless story and iconic score. Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, the production follows the journey of Maria, a spirited young woman who brings music and joy into the lives of the von Trapp family in Austria on the eve of World War II.
Audience favorites including “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and “Edelweiss” remain central to the production’s enduring appeal.
The show features a cast led by Cayleigh Capaldi as Maria Rainer, Kevin Earley as Captain Georg von Trapp and Tony nominee Christiane Noll as Mother Abbess.
While discounted tickets provide an accessible option, organizers note that a wide range of seats are still available for purchase through the Fox Theatre website, offering theater fans multiple ways to experience this cherished musical during its brief Atlanta run.
