Students get financial coaching at Hanscom FCU escape room event
Students from Middlesex Community College took part in a financial literacy and training course Friday at Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s WealthTrek event.Coaches provided the students with advice on budgeting, saving, and building financial stability.Hanscom FCU organized an interactive escape room, designed to teach students practical tools to navigating real-world financial challenges, including fraud detection.”It was kind of challenging, which is also, like, a good thing,” said Dorothy Boateng, an MCC student.Students say the experience provided them with financial skills they will use in the future.”It’s important to carry this knowledge… and having that information to avoid hardships,” said Phillip Abad, an MCC student. “It’s better to know that information than to not.”
