Showing at Milan Fashion Week, Anteprima continued its long-running approach to fashion as art with its new collection, created in collaboration with contemporary Japanese artist Aiko Miyanaga. Known for installations that give form to the intangible – time, memory, transformation – Miyanaga often uses ephemeral materials, like salt and naphthalene, in her works, allowing her sculptures to evolve and finally vanish. Anteprima’s latest runway translated Miyanaga’s vision into a collection of near-transparent knits, fluid silhouettes and monochromatic looks that traced the passage of time.

Cape-like outerwear, fluid skirt panels and layered looks came down the runway in monochromatic crystalline white, then misty grey, midnight blue, moss green, earthy brown and a golden bronze, before returning to pure white – symbolising an impermanent purity. Weightless chiffon trousers and near-transparent knit skirts gave form to Miyanaga’s exploration of the invisible.

An oversized cable-knit sweater with deliberate frayed edges suggested the lingering effects of days gone by, while a reversed jacquard knit exposed inner structures, celebrating a raw beauty normally hidden from view. Coats with rounded, flowing sleeves softened the severity of outerwear, while skirts layered over trousers brought a quiet, harmonious depth.
