For Zenia Jaeger, New York Fashion Week was an endurance sport. Three runways, back to back, with no room for repetition. “Looking back, shaping the beauty for three NYFW runway shows felt intense in the best way,” she says. “Like a full-spectrum test of what Submission Beauty is actually built to do.”
Across Fang NYC, Gabe Gordon and Le Blanc Studios, her product lineup stayed consistent. The outcome, however, did not. Placement, texture and finish did the heavy lifting in ensuring three very distinct beauty directions.
At Fang NYC, the starting point was 1990s Berlin rave culture. “I wanted skin to read like heat, not highlight. Luminous and slightly metallic.” This was achieved by mixing Submission’s highlighters Deep and Lucid into moisturiser so it caught the photography pit’s flashes like sweat. Eyes were built from diffused charcoal pressed with silver glitter and framed by graphic black liner under the eye. Once the clothes and models came into play, the look sharpened. “It still had that club kid energy,” says Jaeger, “just distilled into something polished, controlled, and honest.”
