Summer of the Arts sets 2026 Music on the Move with 12 free concerts across area parks


Summer of the Arts has announced the 2026 schedule for its Music on the Move concert series, which will bring free live performances to parks and neighborhoods across the Iowa City area throughout the summer.

Now in its seventh year, the Wednesday evening series will feature 12 concerts from June through August. Performances are scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and will showcase local musicians spanning a variety of genres.

The series will take place at locations across Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty, including City Park Stage, Terry Trueblood Recreation Area, James Alan McPherson Park, ST Morrison Park in Coralville and City Hall Plaza in North Liberty.

The 2026 lineup includes:

  • June 10: Dave Zollo and Brian Cooper, Fairmeadows Park
  • June 17: The Soft & Low, Hilltop Shelter at ST Morrison Park, Coralville
  • June 24: Blake Shaw Quartet, Willow Creek Park
  • July 1: Kevin Burt, Mercer Park
  • July 8: Hard Luck & the Troubles, Terry Trueblood Recreation Area
  • July 15: Goat Hollow Boys, Happy Hollow Park
  • July 22: Stephanie Catlett with Dan Padley and Tara McGovern, James Alan McPherson Park
  • July 29: Steve Grismore Trio, City Park Stage
  • Aug. 5: Cedar County Cobras, City Hall Plaza, North Liberty
  • Aug. 12: Brick Street Ramblers, Court Hill Park
  • Aug. 19: Pigs & Clover, The Peninsula Neighborhood
  • Aug. 26: Ion & Friends, College Green Park

Organizers said concerts are subject to change due to weather. Any postponement decisions will be announced by 4 p.m. on the day of the performance and posted on the organization’s website and social media channels.

Summer of the Arts is a nonprofit organization that produces several annual arts and cultural events in the Iowa City area, including the Iowa Arts Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival and the Friday Night Concert Series. Its mission is to provide free arts and cultural programming that brings the community together.
