Phoenix Suns’ Dillon Brooks is set to return on Tuesday after missing 18 games with a broken left hand.
Just in time for a late-season rally, the Phoenix Suns will be getting back Dillon Brooks on Tuesday for their matchup against the Orlando Magic, Duane Rankin of azcentral reported.
Brooks, 30, suffered a broken hand that required surgery in the Suns’ win over the Orlando Magic on Feb. 21. Coincidentally, one of Phoenix’s top players this season will return after an 18-game absence against the team that he played against last.
Dillon Brooks’ Impact for the Suns This Season
Dillon Brooks, along with Jalen Green, were acquired by the Suns in the trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets on June 22.
Before going down with the non-shooting-hand injury, Brooks was putting together one of the best seasons of his career. Through 50 games in 2025-26, he’s averaging a career-high 20.9 points and 3.7 rebounds to go along with 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals while having shooting splits of .440/.343/.856.
He went through 5-on-5 scrimmaging over the weekend for the first time since suffering the broken hand. His initial timeline to return was set at four-to-six weeks.
During the fifth week, the team announced that he will return on Tuesday against the Magic.
This news is huge for the Suns. Jalen Green has returned in full form after dealing with a lingering hamstring strain that’s kept him out a majority of this season. It will be the ninth game this season that the Suns will have both Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks available.
Mark Williams’ Injury Update
Over the weekend, Jordan Ott announced that both Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams are set to return at some point during the Suns’ four-game road trip this week. Both players participated in a second 5-on-5 scrimmaging on Monday, showing positive signs in recovery, Duane Rankin wrote.
“They’re just ready to play. We’re ready to have them,” Jordan Ott mentioned in an interview before the Suns’ 131-105 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
With Brooks’ return taking place on Tuesday, Mark Williams is still waiting on his green light to get back in action.
Williams suffered a stress reaction in the third metatarsal of his left foot in early March. He was initially given a two-to-three-week re-evaluation timeline.
With this news, the Suns will get two of their usual starters back this week.
The 24-year-old is also in his first year with the Suns after the team traded for him on the night of the 2025 NBA Draft. In 56 games (52 starts) this season, Williams is averaging 11.6 points and 8.1 rebounds while shooting an efficient 63.3% from the field.
Phoenix is getting closer to full strength at the most important time of the regular season. With seven games remaining, the Suns currently sit as the No. 7 seed in the West.
They are 3.5 games behind the Houston Rockets for the final spot in the NBA Playoffs. It will take some help from other teams, but Phoenix still has a chance to dodge the Play-In Tournament.
The middle of the West is in a tight-knit race. The difference between the No. 3-seed Los Angeles Lakers and the Suns is just seven games.
