Take a “Wrong Turn” with VLNTYN’s brooding new music video

Last year, we introduced you to VLNTYN—a self-described “conceptual dark indie rock project” fronted by Milwaukee singer/songwriter Jorge Vallentine—through covering the project’s lead single, “Swimming In The Sun.” A few months later, VLNTYN’s catalog grew and the darkness increased with “My Limit,” as well as a number of other moody singles that touched on other rock subgenres like garage rock and emo.

Now with more than a year under the project’s belt, the accompaniment of a full band behind him, and an array of live outings to their credit, Vallentine and company are keep things rolling strong into 2026. Following the release of yet another brooding, intense single last month, VLNTYN is chasing that very same song with an accompanying music video with an equally gloomy visual treatment.

The just-released video for “Wrong Turn” is confined within a bright red border and basked in blue. Perhaps it’s a darkened and dour beach scene or maybe it’s a glimpse into another realm altogether. In a three-and-a-half-minute span, viewers encounter a horned creature looking out from atop a tall bluff, walking across the sand in front of choppy water, and in the vicinity of an ominous shape.

Take a “Wrong Turn” with VLNTYN and watch the video below, then check out a VLNTYN solo set at Ope! Brewing in support Royal Mill on Friday, April 10 (and try our beer while you’re there!).
