Teachers enjoy free workshops at U.S. Space and Rocket Center to boost classroom science lessons

Teachers in the Tennessee Valley embraced free access to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, enhancing classrooms with innovative workshops and NASA resources.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Teachers from across the Tennessee Valley received free admission to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center over President’s Day weekend, with the museum hosting workshops designed to bring unique science lessons to classrooms.

The museum’s educational resources extend beyond its walls, according to Joseph Vick, director of museum education.

“You can come see us all that you want to explore our museum. But we can also continue with our educational outreach programs where you can go on our website, request one of those and get the info for us to come see you,” Vick said. “We also have various all kinds of resources that we’ve shared through NASA programs, through other commercial partnership programs with NASA, and our own resources like Science Never Stops.”

The center also offers workshops through PowerSchool for teachers seeking additional teaching credits.
