ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Did you get a text from RG&E saying there was an outage at your home? At least one of our journalists in the News10NBC newsroom did.
Turns out, the nearly 3,300 outages this text from RG&E refers to were false outages, meaning no one actually lost power.
The outages were reported in the Greece and Charlotte areas. A spokesperson from RG&E tells us the false outages triggered text notifications due a technical issue caused by system maintenance.
