There are certain documentaries that stick with you. Think “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room,” the 2005 chronicle of massive corporate fraud; “An Inconvenient Truth,” Al Gore’s 2006 warning cry about the devastating reality of climate change; and “Blackfish,” the 2013 look at the potential consequences of confining killer whales in theme parks.
“The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist” is one of those works. Opening Friday in metro Detroit, the film is the brainchild of filmmakers from two films that won Oscars in 2023: “Everything Everywhere All At Once” and “Navalny.”
