CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel Athletics has brought on Brennan Hand for the role of Associate Athletic Director for Finance & Budget, per an announcement from the department Monday morning.
“I’m incredibly honored and excited to join The Citadel and the Bulldog family,” Hand said. “The opportunity to support the department’s mission and work alongside such a dedicated group of leaders and coaches is something I truly look forward to. I’m grateful for the chance to contribute and serve the institution, its student-athletes, and the campus community.”
Previously, Hand spent the past five years working as the Assistant Athletic Director of Business Services & External Relations at the University of South Carolina Aiken, serving as a key member of the administrative leadership team and overseeing all financial operations of the department. Additionally, he handled multiple external relations obligations as well, including management of ticket operations as well as oversight of corporate sponsorships and other outside revenue opportunities.
Prior to USC Aiken, Hand worked for nearly two years at the University of South Florida as the department’s Assistant Director of Business Operations. He also served as an Assistant Athletic Director and Adjunct Professor at Southern Virginia University between 2014-19, notably stepping in as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team from 2012-2014, the women’s basketball team in 2014-15 and the men’s lacrosse team in 2015-16.
Hand received his Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management & Coaching from High Point University in 2011 before later returning to school for his Master of Science in Sport Management from Liberty in 2015.
A native of Virginia, Hand is married to Danielle, and the couple has two children, McKynlee and Kayson.
