Ballet flats: A must-have piece
Even today, ballet flats continue to stir up debate, passions, and generate endless commentary. Icons of quiet luxury, these flat shoes have actually been stealing the spotlight for several seasons now. Embellished with rhinestones, with a strap or ribbon finish, crafted in mesh or subtly perforated leather, ballet flats keep reinventing themselves endlessly through a wide range of shapes and shades in order to win over the most reluctant customers.
Even more surprising, they have recently entered the menswear wardrobe, as a brilliant way to debunk the traditional idea of masculinity. Harry Styles sported a pair at the BRIT Awards last February, while designer Marc Jacobs sent them onto the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. Let’s take a closer look at the most beautiful designs of this season.
Which pairs to choose for Spring/Summer?

Black leather ballet flats
Deeply rooted in the indie sleaze aesthetic, black leather ballet flats are everywhere. And for good reason! Even the most fashion-forward it-girls have embraced this aesthetic, such as Kendall Jenner, American actress Ayo Edebiri, singer Rosé, or Kate Moss, who has been wearing them for years. As for brands, while Khaite dares a square toe, COS offers a shoe defined by assertive minimalism, closely followed by Chloé, whose ballet flats charm with their supple leather and bow adorned with delicate little gold jewels.

Openwork ballet flats
Mesh or fishnet ballet flats breathe new life into the classic shoes. Among the openwork mush-have of this season are the iconic design by Alaïa, Mango’s white mesh version embellished with rhinestones and a ruched leather lace-up style imagined by Lanvin.

Bold, iconic ballet flats
A modern version with square toe and golden ankle strap at Jil Sander, sequinned embellishments at Chanel… Each pair boldly expresses the DNA of its house, all the while remaining true to the timeless essence of the classic ballet flat. Our absolute favorite? Miu Miu’s rock-inspired take with its now-iconic leather straps and gingham ribbons.
