Based on Frieda McFadden’s novel of the same name, The Housemaid — which is officially available to stream on digital platforms — stars Sydney Sweeney as Millie, a recently-released prisoner who scores a job working as a maid for Amanda Seyfried’s Nina Winchester. Desperate to keep her live-in job, Millie does everything she can to abide by Nina’s absurd commands and sudden mood swings. When she learns of the housewife’s dark past, Millie takes comfort in Nina’s husband, Andrew Winchester, the seemingly perfect (and drop-dead gorgeous) husband, learning that things aren’t always what they seem behind locked doors.The Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig, is a twisty psychological thriller for the ages, expertly managing to keep both those who have read the book and those who have not on the edge of their seats until the moment the credits start to roll.
