The Strong National Museum of Play opens new Japanese Indie Gaming


ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Strong National Museum of Play has opened a new mini exhibit on Friday, focused on the history of Japanese Indie Gaming.

The event kicked off with a panel featuring game designers, artists, and sound engineers who discussed what makes independent games interesting and engaging. Following the panel, the exhibit reveal showcased three new displays focusing on Japanese games from both the past and present.

The exhibit also paid special attention to the contributions of women in the gaming industry. Organizers said exhibits like these demonstrate that cultures from around the world are as similar as they are different.

The new exhibit is now open to the public at the Strong Museum of Play.
