The Wild Way Gavin Rossdale Kicked Off His Music Career

Musicians never know when inspiration or opportunity may strike. Sometimes, each comes at the most mundane but valuable moments. Gavin Rossdale knows that well. His intro to country music came about quite unexpectedly.

Rossdale shared with Fox News Digital that “It’s funny, I live with someone who wants to play country music on most school rides. So, I get to listen to country half the time. And the other one he’s into, my son, he’s into yacht rock.” Yacht rock is a label for mellow, laid-back music such as that of Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates, and Toto. Per the outlet, its heyday was “the late 1970s and early 1980s.”

He has three boys with his former wife, Gwen Stefani. They were married from 2002 to 2016. His current partner is a fellow musician, Xhoana Xheneti.

Rossdale Is Into the Music of Zach Bryan

Gavin Rossdale, 60, the English frontman of Bush, continued per the outlet, “So, I split the time between when he’s DJing. It’s yacht rock, it’s the Doobie Brothers, which is kind of cool, or country stuff. Now, I like Zach Bryan. I think he’s incredible. I like some of those songs. You know, I liked it when it’s more individual sounding and darker and weirder.”

He added that he is still on a learning curve about country music in general. Nevertheless, Rossdale appreciates Zach Bryan’s “Americana vibe,” as the outlet phrased it.

He and Bush Will Play at Stagecoach This Year

Rossdale and his bandmates will be performing at the Stagecoach Music Festival. It takes place in Indio, California, from April 24 through 26. They will be joining other stars including Post Malone, Little Big Town, Cody Johnson, Red Clay Strays, Riley Green, and Lainey Wilson.

He feels that bringing a more rock-oriented sound won’t be out of place at an event geared to country music. “I think it just comes down to playing well and being enthusiastic and having a good energy. And if you bring good energy, there’s no reason why people can’t respond,”

The Musician Is Thrilled to Still Be So Active and Engaged at Age 60

Gavin Rossdale is delighted to still be relevant and busy at this point in his life and career. He shared, “Everything is really weird because when I was young and to think, even to reflect myself at this point in my life would have been like, surely you’re gonna be dead at that point. So, the fact I’m not dead is this crazy bonus from what my vision was as a kid. When I turned 40, I thought that’s it, it’s all over. And, so, for me, it is an incredible journey,”
