To the Editor:
Long-suffering Cyprus is going through difficult times at the moment due to the war with Iran. My point of view is that this war does not directly concern Cyprus and Greece. As Hellenism today, we do not have hostile relations with Iran, so why should we get involved in a war against them? Therefore, I deeply believe that the British bases should leave Cyprus in short order. Their empire is over and Cyprus is no longer a British colony. In general, the footprint of the Great Powers in the Middle East is dark and bloody. Instead of peace, they sow violence and discord among the people there. Unfortunately, the value of human life is not seriously considered by the powerful of our planet.
Thank you.
