Tottenham Hotspur winger Wilson Odobert has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear.
The 21-year-old went off injured in the 35th minute of Tuesday night’s home defeat by Newcastle United after appearing to injure his left leg. He was replaced by Mathys Tel.
An ACL injury typically requires a significant recovery period and Odobert, who joined Spurs from Burnley in 2024, is unlikely to play again until the 2026-27 season.
The Frenchman has scored two goals in 33 appearances across all competitions this term, and none in 24 matches in the Premier League.

Spurs are already without Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison due to long-term knee injuries, with other absentees including Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Bergvall, Richarlison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie.
Earlier on Wednesday, Spurs, who are 16th in the Premier League, parted company with head coach Thomas Frank, following the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle.
Tottenham have won none of their last eight league games and just two from their last 17. They are five points above the relegation zone.
Problems pile up for Spurs
Analysis by Tottenham correspondent Jay Harris
For the second season in a row, Tottenham are grappling with an injury crisis. They had 10 players unavailable through injury, along with the suspended Cristian Romero, for Tuesday’s defeat to Newcastle United which turned out to be Frank’s final game in charge.
Odobert’s injury leaves Spurs in a difficult position. Odobert was replaced on the right wing by Tel against Newcastle but his France Under-21 team-mate prefers to play on the left. With Kudus recovering from a groin issue, which is expected to keep him out until April, and Kulusevski not close to a return from his long-term knee injury, Spurs now have no senior options on the right. Their decision to sell Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace in the winter transfer window has come back to haunt them.
Frank moved central midfielder Conor Gallagher out wide against Newcastle after Odobert went off. The England international combined well with Archie Gray, but lacks speed and dynamism.
Everything is going wrong for Spurs at the moment. Whoever replaces Frank will have to play somebody out of position or drastically change formation to compensate for their lack of options out wide following Odobert’s injury.
