GREECE, N.Y. — The Town of Greece held a free drive-up paint recycling event on Saturday.
The town teamed up with paint company Green Sheen to give people a convenient and environmentally responsible way to get rid of unused paint they had sitting around. More than 1,200 people registered for the event.
Large cardboard boxes were filled with gallons of paint throughout the day.
“Which is one of the largest we’ve had in the State of New York this year. We’ll probably collect three tractor trailers full of paint today,” said Charlie Porter, vice president of business development.
The unused paint is recycled into new paint to be sold at Habitat for Humanity ReStore locations across the country.
