Troy University’s John M. Long School of Music, in collaboration with Ilium Records and industry partners, will host high school and college students for the Business, Production and Music (BPM) Expo on April 23 and 24.
The two-day event will offer students to engage with the music industry through hands-on workshops, recording sessions and live performances. Students will also learn from Grammy winning professionals including virtuoso guitarist and session musician, Kevin Enstrom; Grammy-nominated engineer, producer and musician, Tom Kahre; and music industry professional in business affairs and artist pathways, Matt Fulton.
Dr. Chandler Bridges, Associate Professor of Music and Coordinator of the Music Industry Program, said the event is an opportunity for participants to learn about the music industry and how TROY is preparing students to enter and succeed in it.
“The BPM Expo is a key event for the Music Industry Program because it gives students a chance to step into a real-world environment and see how music actually moves from an idea to a finished product,” Bridges said. “Prospective students can get a clear sense of what we do at TROY and how our program connects performance, production, and business in a practical way.”
“What we want attendees to take away is clarity and confidence,” Bridges continued. “They start to see how all the pieces of the industry fit together, and they get to experience that process up close through sessions, collaboration, and live performance. It helps them get a better feel for where they fit and what their own path could look like.”
