A 19-year-old man was arrested in northern Greece on Wednesday as part of a police operation to tackle crime involving Turkish nationals.

The Sub-Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of Northern Greece carried out four house searches in Thessaloniki and Halkidiki and arrested the young man for illegally possessing a crossbow. The 19-year-old had been arrested in the past for violating immigration laws.

Another nine men, including a Greek national, were briefly detained.

The operation was assisted by police officers from the Crimes Against Life and Property, Narcotics, Intelligence and Special Actions Departments.
