UEFA Europa League: Decision Night Player Props

Where do we find Thursday’s player prop value?

There are some massive games taking place on Thursday, all of which will kick off at the same time, unlike the previous seven rounds of league-phase fixtures.

Sure, some teams have little to fight for due to either being in a very strong position or being out already, but for quite a few, there’s a serious scrap on. One game that looks particularly appetizing, with both teams fighting for a favorable finishing position, is the one that will take place in Seville. Look out for that one.

With one final chance to uncover some league-phase player prop value, it’s time to get stuck in. Based on the odds from our top sportsbooks, at the time of writing, here are Thursday’s best player prop bets:

Real Betis vs Feyenoord: Anis Hadj Moussa to Score

As mentioned above, one of the most interesting games happening on Thursday is the showdown in Seville between Real Betis and Feyenoord.

Frankly, at odds of +425, it’s well worth betting that visiting forward Anis Hadj Moussa, who has looked like a very dangerous player in Europe this season, enjoys himself offensively at Estadio Benito Villamarín.

The Algerian has saved some of his best performances for the UEL in recent months, scoring twice in the competition so far, averaging 0.34 goals per 90 minutes. Not only is he Feyenoord’s top UEFA Europa League scorer this term, but the 23-year-old is also his team’s best performer in terms of shots and shots on target.

Moussa has so far averaged 2.72 shots and 1.19 shots on target per 90 minutes in the League Phase of this competition, with some of his best efforts coming in recent games, such as against Sturm Graz last week, when he was in hot form, taking four shots, registering two on target and scoring one goal.

Moussa continued his promising form with a domestic goal at the weekend, so he ought to go to Seville feeling confident. Against a Betis side that has lost some confidence in recent weeks, this is a man who could very easily do some damage.

Real Betis vs Feyenoord: Leo Sauer 1+ Shots on Target

At odds of +115, I also cannot leave without betting on Feyenoord’s Leo Sauer to register a shot on target. In recent games, the young Slovakian forward/winger has looked like a hungry player, getting himself into some excellent shooting positions, while he should definitely be a threat on the counter against a Betis team that will push forward.

Over the last few months Sauer has been used more and more by Feyenoord head coach Robin van Persie, who now has lots of trust in the 20-year-old. Sauer scored at the weekend, while he’s started to develop a serious habit of registering shots on target, doing so in four of his last five appearances in all competitions.

Last week against Sturm Graz, Sauer fired off a shot on target, while he did the same when Feyenoord last played away from home in the UEL, scoring against FCSB.

In each of Betis last two games, we’ve seen opposing offensive players cause a threat on the break, so it’s far from difficult to envisage Sauer having the space to engineer promising shooting positions.

Quite simply, given his recent efforts and what we’ve seen from the hosts defensively, the Slovakian appears to have a better chance of registering a shot on target than the early odds would have us believe. Grab that value with both hands.
