Ukrainian President Zelensky Visits Greece to Boost Energy Cooperation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Greece. He is subsequently scheduled to visit France and Spain.

At the airport, he was met by the country’s deputy prime minister, Kostis Hatzidakis. Today, a meeting between the president and his counterpart Konstantinos Tasoulas is planned, as well as with the prime minister and the speaker of the Greek Parliament.

Earlier Zelensky stated that an agreement has been prepared between Ukraine and Greece regarding gas supplies from Greece to Ukraine. According to him, there are arrangements to finance gas imports, and Kyiv will receive almost €2 billion for gas imports to compensate for losses of Ukrainian production due to Russian strikes.

It is also known that the visit to France has been confirmed by the Élysée Palace, and Spanish media had previously reported possible future visits to Spain by the Ukrainian leader.

The stay in Greece underscores continued coordination between Ukraine and Greece on energy cooperation and the importance of supporting the region in the context of security and the economy.
