The University of Memphis says that Saturday evening’s and Sunday’s games have been canceled.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The University of Memphis reports that the final softball games of the 901 Classic have been canceled due to inclement weather.
According to the University of Memphis, Saturday night’s game between Miami (Ohio) and Southern Indiana, as well as Sunday’s games between Memphis and Southern Indiana, Ball State and Evansville, and Miami (Ohio) and Kansas City, are canceled.
The U of M says the last game of the 901 Classic will now be the ongoing game between Memphis and Kansas City.
Heavy rain was predicted to move into the Memphis area on Saturday afternoon and continue into Sunday morning. The rain is expected to continue throughout Sunday afternoon and evening.
The U of M softball team will be back in action against Mississippi State on February 18. The team will then host the Blues City Invitational from February 20 to 22, featuring games against Kentucky, North Carolina A&T, Bradley, and Indiana State.
