The local library is keeping teens busy in the new year with a full lineup of activities.
The Woodburn Public Library has announced its January event series, debuting a list of free Monday activities for teens. Each weekly event will begin at 4 p.m. and will be held at the library, located at 280 Garfield St.
The month of activities will start off Jan. 5 with the return of the Video Game Club, where teens can show off their gaming skills and connect with friends over games and snacks.
On Jan. 12, the library will host a board game night where teens can compete in an UNO tournament to win prizes.
The Woodburn library is closed Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but events teen return Jan. 26 with an anime watch party. The watch party is centered around Japanese cultural appreciation, where teens can watch and discuss anime on the library’s television, look at manga and learn about Japanese snacks and culture.
The library’s teen programs are designed to provide a variety of creative and social opportunities for teens to connect with each other and utilize free library resources. Regular offerings include watch parties, art classes and even occasional excursions like escape rooms.
The Woodburn Public Library also offers a variety of programs for adults including daily yoga, pilates and strength training exercise classes as well as language courses and craft nights.
