The Los Angeles Lakers disappointed many of their fans by not making a major trade prior to the Feb. 5 trade deadline. They did send guard Gabe Vincent and a future second-round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks for Luke Kennard, the NBA’s most accurate 3-point shooter, and he has shown the ability to contribute off the bench as both a sniper and a connector-type player.
The Lakers also filled their final roster spot by calling up guard Kobe Bufkin from the G League. Bufkin, who was a first-round draft pick by the Hawks in 2023, had a number of big games with the Lakers’ G League affiliate in recent weeks.
