Despite the turbulence in the Middle East, international inbound airline seats are already up 8% from last year for the summer season, exceeding 30 million.

The appetite for Greece appears particularly acute among US travelers, as carriers there have already launched or are about to direct flights, some earlier than in 2025.

United Airlines started flights from Newark on March 6, while Delta Air Lines launched routes from New York (JFK) on March 9 and Atlanta from March 10.

Service ramps up further late in March, with Delta adding Boston on March 29 and American Airlines beginning Philadelphia-Athens flights March 30.

Airline executives say higher fuel costs added about $400 million per carrier but have not altered first-quarter profit forecasts amid strong ticket sales.
