After a win over the Castaic Coyotes on Tuesday, the Valencia Vikings tennis team followed up its performance with a 10-8 win over the West Ranch Wildcats on Thursday and secured their eighth Foothill League win of the season.
The Vikings (11-5, 8-2) recorded their eighth victory of the league season and are tied with the Grizzlies with an 8-2 record in second place in the Foothill League standings.
The Vikings play their next league contest on Tuesday, April 14, on the road against the Canyon Cowboys with the first serve set for 3 p.m.
The Wildcats (10-2, 10-1) dropped their first league match of the year and own a 10-1 record in league play.
Despite the loss, the Wildcats remain in first place in the Foothill League standings and will look to bounce back in their final league match of the season on Thursday, April 16, at home against the visiting Hart Hawks with first serve set for 3 p.m.

Golden Valley 17, Canyon 1: The Golden Valley Grizzlies (12-3, 8-2) secured the road win over the Canyon Cowboys (2-13, 1-9).
With the win, the Grizzlies improved to an 8-2 record in Foothill League play after the Golden Valley single side swept its matchups across all three rounds.
The Grizzlies will look to build upon their momentum on Tuesday, April 14, at Saugus High School against the Centurions with firstserve scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Cowboys will look to bounce back at home on Tuesday, April 14, against the Valencia Vikings with first serve set for 3 p.m.
Saugus 9, Hart 9: The Saugus Centurions (10-7, 5-5) and Hart Hawks (3-8, 3-7) settled for a tie after three rounds in both singles and doubles play.
But after the scores were tallied, the Centurions had more points scored than Hart, 68-66, to take the overall win.
The Centurions secured their fifth league win of the year and resume league play on Tuesday, April 14, at home against the Grizzlies at 3 p.m.
The Hawks will look to rebound on Tuesday, April 14, at Castaic High School against the Coyotes with first serve set for 3 p.m.
