On Saturday, December 6, the North Myrtle Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10804 Auxiliary held a Fashion Show, Tea and Christmas item giveaway to raise money to be able to help veterans in need in the local area and to provide some financial assistance to the VFW National Home in Michigan. There were 62 people who attended and over $1,400 was raised.
A special thanks to Hope Taylor Co of North Myrtle Beach for providing the clothing.
There are many veterans, veteran families and homeless veterans in the Grand Strand that have a hard time making ends meet.
The monies, at the post level, allow for Post 10804 and Auxiliary to be able to provide help when an area veteran or their family asks for it. Along with providing some financial help, the post can direct those in need to other agencies that can provide most of the assistance needed.
The VFW National Home is a home for veteran families (with children) that are down on their luck or they have no place to go/live. The VFW world-wide provides financial assistance to this home in an effort to ensure that those veteran families that need it, have a place to live.
A VFW Post Auxiliary exists to provide whatever help it can to support the post and all its veteran helping programs.
