The Golden State Warriors are adding frontcourt depth as injuries continue to pile up.
Golden State is signing Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, who reported the move Saturday, citing Yurtseven’s agents, Keith Glass and Luke Glass.
“The Golden State Warriors are signing former Heat and Jazz center Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract,” Charania reported. “Yurtseven spent the season in the EuroLeague before joining the G League last week, posting 36 points and 12 rebounds Friday night.”
The signing comes as Golden State deals with a mounting list of injuries that has significantly depleted its rotation.
Warriors Add Frontcourt Help After Horford Injury

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, the Warriors moved quickly to secure another center after veteran big man Al Horford exited Friday’s game with a calf injury.
“Warriors add an extra center the night after Al Horford leaves with a calf issue,” Slater reported. “Steve Kerr called it a strain and indicated the likelihood Horford misses time. Yurtseven has played 113 combined games in Miami and Utah.”
Golden State’s injury woes intensified during Friday’s 127-117 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, which marked the team’s fourth straight defeat.
Veteran forward Draymond Green was scratched just 30 minutes before tipoff with lower back soreness. Horford then left the game after only five minutes due to right calf tightness.
The situation worsened as veteran guard Seth Curry limped to the locker room in the second quarter with left adductor soreness, while second-year center Quinten Post suffered a left ankle sprain.
“We’re going through it,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after the game. “We’re about as beaten up as any team I can ever remember.”
Golden State has already been without two of its biggest stars for more than a month. Jimmy Butler tore his ACL in early January and is out for the season, while Stephen Curry has been sidelined since Jan. 30 with a lingering right knee injury.
Yurtseven Dominated in G League Before Warriors Callup

The 27-year-old center recorded 36 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and two assists in just 28 minutes for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in a 128-101 victory over the Salt Lake City Stars on Friday.
He shot 15-of-21 from the field while recording his third consecutive double-double since returning to the United States earlier this month.
Yurtseven had spent the past two seasons playing overseas with Panathinaikos Athens before returning to the G League.
Earlier this month, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that the three-year NBA veteran had signed with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets.
Yurtseven Brings NBA Experience to Warriors
The 7-foot Turkish center previously played for the Miami Heat and the Utah Jazz.
Across 113 NBA games, Yurtseven has averaged 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds while showing flashes as a rebounder and interior scorer.
This season, he appeared in 19 EuroLeague games for Panathinaikos, averaging 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in roughly 12 minutes per contest before both sides agreed to part ways on Feb. 28 after veteran center Richaun Holmes returned from injury.
Yurtseven’s combination of size, rebounding and recent momentum in the G League could make him a valuable short-term addition as Golden State navigates its injury crisis.
Warriors Begin Road Trip in New York
Yurtseven is expected to be available when the Warriors begin a six-game road trip Sunday against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
For a Warriors team struggling to stay afloat in the Western Conference standings, the addition represents an attempt to stabilize the roster — even if only temporarily — during one of the most injury-ravaged stretches of the season.
