And just like that, the Fall 2026 season of New York Fashion Week has come to a close. The Council of Fashion Designers of America’s official schedule had not even commenced, but American heavyweights Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren had already presented their “sensational” and “sublime” collections.
The official schedule opened up with Rachel Scott’s highly anticipated debut as Proenza Schouler creative director. The Jamaican-born designer ultimately ushered in a new chapter for the label, one that honors the house codes of “color, precision, craft” to create the ideal wardrobe for the New York woman. At Tory Burch, names like Amanda Seyfried and Pamela Anderson were seated perched front row. Burch’s collection consisted of sleek coats cinched with statement belts, metallic dresses adorned with fish-shaped necklaces, and tailored blazers and slouchy sweaters were given a sporty twist.
At Carolina Herrera, Wes Gordon was inspired by the community of women who are shaping the contemporary art scene. This season marked the monumental 45th anniversary of Michael Kors, who cast the supermodel Christy Turlington to close out his spectacular affair, staged within New York’s Metropolitan Opera House. For her third outing as Calvin Klein creative director, Veronica Leoni went back to the late ’70s, early ‘80s, and zeroed in on the physical form.
