What a slump, eh? Freefalling in the PL, Tottenham lose captain 😨

Tottenham’s situation is getting more and more complicated.

De Zerbi’s debut — the club’s third manager of the season — was not enough to keep them out of the Premier League relegation zone with six rounds remaining.

And this Monday (13) brought more bad news.

ā€œCutiā€ Romero, Spurs captain, has been diagnosed with a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

He will be out for up to eight weeks.

He will miss the final stretch of the Premier League season and has become a real concern for the Argentina national team with the World Cup in mind.

Still no PL win in 2026

Dropping into the bottom three was only a ā€œmatter of timeā€ because of the run of poor results.

West Ham did their part by thrashing bottom club Wolverhampton on Saturday to reach 32 points.

Tottenham needed to beat Sunderland on Sunday, but Mukiele stole the show and Spurs stayed on 30.

Confirming themselves as the new ā€œownersā€ of 18th place.

Nottingham Forest are 16th with 33 points. The same tally as Leeds, who are 15th and have a game in hand.

Burnley (20) and Wolves (17) are virtually doomed.
