‘Jurassic Park’

Steven Spielberg’s thrilling adventure, 65 million years in the making, was 1993’s highest earner, and it’s at the Redford Theatre on a glorious 35mm print. Playing at 8 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.
‘They Will Kill You’

Zazie Beetz (“Joker”) stars as a woman who has to battle a cult of immortal Satanists in this comic horror action thriller from director Kirill Sokolov. Our review is here. (At area theaters)
‘Stand By Me’
Rob Reiner’s classic coming-of-age tale, an adaptation of a Stephen King tale, is back on screens for its 40th anniversary. (At area theaters)
Barbara Stanwyck Weekend

As part of its celebration of Barbara Stanwyck, Detroit’s Senate Theater is showing 1933’s “Baby Face” (8 p.m. Friday) 1941’s “Meet John Doe” (3 p.m. Saturday) and 1944’s “Double Indemnity” (8 p.m. Saturday). Doors open one hour prior to showtime; tickets are $6 each or $15 for all three films.
‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’

It’s “Kill Bill,” all at once, the way it was meant to be seen. (At Historic Howell Theater)

Winner of seven Academy Awards, including Best Actress (for Gwyneth Paltrow) and Best Picture, “Shakespeare in Love” hits the Redford Theatre at 8 p.m. Saturday… Chariots of fire! “Ben-Hur” is back on screens, just in time for Easter (at area theaters)… Lili Reinhart and Lola Tung star as mall employees who run a secret witch coven in “Forbidden Fruits” (at area theaters)… Norman Jewison directs the rock and roll musical “Jesus Christ Superstar,” which hits the Redford Theatre at 2 p.m. Sunday… Akinola Davies Jr. directs “My Father’s Shadow,” about two young brothers during Nigeria’s presidential election in 1993 (at the Detroit Film Theatre)… Marisa Tomei plays a mother who’s trying to tell her daughter “You’re Dating a Narcissist!” in this comic romance (AMC Livonia 20 and AMC Forum 30)… “No Other Choice,” Park Chan-wook’s meditation on the modern work force, is playing for free at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ann Arbor’s State Theatre…
Is A.I. really all bad? One father finds out in “The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist” (at area theaters… A young up-and-comer by the name of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his feature film debut in “The Mummy Returns,” back in theaters for its 25th anniversary… Is there ever a bad time to watch a Hayao Miyazaki film? “Kiki’s Delivery Service” is on screen in 4K in both English and Japanese (with English subtitles) at AMC Theatres locations… 2023’s “Jesus Revolution” returns to the big screen at the AMC Forum 30 and the AMC Livonia 20, as part of the theater chain’s Fan Faves series… Acclaimed playwright, novelist and filmmaker Marcel Pagnol (Laurent Lafitte) in the animated “A Magnificent Life” (at area theaters)… New Zealand nuns are on a road trip in “Holy Days” (at AMC Forum 30)… British rockers Bring Me the Horizon are rocking movie theaters in “Bring Me the Horizon: L.I.V.E. in Sao Paulo” (at area theaters).
