These awards typically coincide with the playoffs. In many cases, players will receive an award, hoist their trophy in the air, and then take to the court in an attempt to win their most important game of the season.

This early on, the details are still fuzzy about the exact timing, but they will soon clear up. Typically, a more precise timeline is announced around mid-April.

When are the NBA’s end-of-season award winners announced?

At the moment, the NBA hasn’t announced a specific timeline for each of the award announcements. In fact, the only results currently available are the finalists for Teammate of the Year and the NBA Sportsmanship Award.

In the meantime, fans are left in the dark on when these award winners will be announced. Historically, the award announcements stretch throughout late April and into May.

Last season, the first award, Sixth Man of the Year, was announced on April 22 with the final award, MVP, given out on May 21.

With the 65-game requirement now in place for award winners, as well as a potential appeals process, voting isn’t as speedy as it once was. These announcements will stretch throughout the playoff season in 2026.
