We’re taking a look at an incident on October 17, 2024 in Florida where officers were called to Walmart regarding three individuals attempting to shoplift. A Walmart Asset Protection Associate advised that a male and two females had been seen on camera concealing merchandise. The male concealed merchandise in a blue backpack, then met up with the two females who handed him some items to conceal. They then walked around the store selecting more merchandise before the male handed the female in a dress his bag with the concealed merchandise, who then went to a car in the parking lot, emptied the contents of the bag into the car, and returned into the store and handed the male the empty bag. While the female in the dress had been at the car, the male and female continued concealing more merchandise in a brown bag and a silver bag. After the second female returned, the male took the blue bag to go conceal more merchandise while the females went and got makeup. The male and female then went to the register and purchased a gallon of milk and a pack of snacks without paying for anything else. The female in the dress concealed the makeup in her purse.
They were all charged with Petit Theft (FL Statute 812.014.2E). They would all have the charges dismissed after each completed a Pre-Trial Diversion program.
