Woman Arrested Over 27 Burglaries Across Northern Greece


Police in Komotini uncovered a burglary ring involving a foreign man and a Greek woman accused of breaking into 27 homes in Xanthi and Komotini and stealing more than €80,000.

According to the Public Security Team of the Komotini Crime Investigation and Detection Department, authorities identified the two suspects following an investigation into a series of residential burglaries in the two northern Greek cities.

Police arrested the Greek woman, while the foreign male accomplice was identified and included in the case file.

Investigators determined that between July and December 2025, the suspects allegedly carried out 27 burglaries in homes across Xanthi and Komotini. They stole cash, jewellery and a bank card, which they later used to withdraw money.

During the investigation, police seized burglary tools, clothing and mobile phones believed to have been used in carrying out the thefts.

Authorities estimated the total financial gain from the burglaries to exceed €80,000.

The Komotini Crime Investigation and Detection Department continued the preliminary investigation into the case.
