A new claim states that a limited-edition Zelda-themed Switch 2 is in the works.
There’s a chance you might not have heard that some of the biggest titles from Nintendo’s 2026 lineup leaked recently, including a major Zelda remake. The remake is seemingly going to be of one of the highest-rated games of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Nintendo might have something special planned for the Switch 2 release.
Switch 2 Could Seemingly Get a Zelda Remake-Themed Edition, and the Remake Reportedly has a “Pretty Big Budget”
Speshal Nick recently shared a claim on X (formerly Twitter) regarding a Zelda-themed Limited Edition Switch 2 console. In his latest post, he mentioned being told that “we’re getting a Zelda-themed Limited Edition Switch 2 console.” However, he noted that he is unsure if the game will be offered as a bundle with the console. Additionally, Nick included a screenshot in his post indicating that he was informed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake has a “pretty big budget.”
A themed Switch 2 console is on many players’ wishlists, and what better game to receive a limited edition than Ocarina of Time? We’ve seen several themed editions for the original Switch, including models like the Standard, Lite, and OLED. Among these limited editions, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom version is arguably the best-looking, with other notable contenders including Mario Red, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and more editions.
In other news, the voice behind Princess Zelda has discussed the direction and expectations, or lack thereof, she was given during her audition. Additionally, Netflix has secured exclusive streaming rights to Sony’s live-action Legend of Zelda movie following its theatrical debut in May 2027.
